Island Chick Design Company was created by Artist and Residential Interior Designer Jesse Vandervoort. I have spent the past 20+ years as an islander here in the heart of the Florida Keys. When I arrived in the keys to intern with a local resort I never could have guessed where my path would take me! I met my husband, purchased a home, became the mother of two incredible boys, and well, have never looked back. I worked as an Interior Designer for a local custom home builder for ten years before I was blessed with an opportunity to start a business with a friend. I helped operate an art studio for eight years. This opportunity allowed me to work with our community, visitors and our local kids, which was truly amazing! I also developed a love of all things glass, so when our adventure came to a close, this business was born. I hope to continue to create glass treasures for my clients and share my passion with the next generation.

Glass fusion is an amazing art medium that allows for the creation of functional artwork! Due to the increased strength of the glass once it has undergone the firing process, it can be installed anywhere you would use traditional tile, and it will never fade or diminish in beauty and sparkle.

I love to create! I find beauty in old things, and enjoy re-purposing discarded treasures into new works of art.

I am inspired by nature and the beautiful place I call home is an endless resource.

I have a mild obsession with my “girls”….our nine chickens that bless us with cuddles and eggs every day!
